Pojipo is a place to write down each day's small good things, and to look back on them later. Poji is there with you. It's fine not to write on some days.
Your account
Pojipo starts with an account (from version 1.0.10). No password is needed.
There are three ways in: Continue with Apple (iPhone), Continue with Google, or your email address (enter the 6-digit code we send you).
We never ask for your real name, phone number, address or location. Your nickname doesn't need to be your real name.
Your records are kept in your account, so on a new phone you can see them again by logging in to the same account.
If you used an earlier version without an account, what's on your phone moves into the account as it is when you create one.
No email with the code? Please check your spam folder, wait a little, and try Resend code.
The screen tour
After you create your account, the first time you open Home the screen dims and shows one thing at a time: the Scenes & sounds button → + → the tabs.
Tap Skip to end it any time. The last step's The full guide opens this page.
To see it again, use Show the screen tour again on the Me tab.
The four tabs
The tabs at the bottom take you between four screens.
Home: Poji and the sky as it is now. Poji talks to you here, and scenes, sounds and Poji's room are here too. The heart of the app.
Poji: today's theme, and good things from friends and from everyone.
Reflect: this week's small good things, and the calendar. A place to look back on your own records.
Me: your good-mood switches, gentle notes, and Settings.
The screen with Poji and the sky as it is now. You can simply leave it open — on your desk, for example.
Share a positive moment (+)
Tap the round + beside the tabs to open What was a positive moment today? It's there on every screen.
When you open Home, Poji says something like “Tell me today's positive!” — + Tap to write in that bubble opens it too. See Writing today's good thing.
Scenes & sounds (the door button)
The door button to the right of the date opens Scenes & sounds.
The speaker beside it plays or stops the sky's sound (as The sky's sound now in Scenes & sounds does). It lights up while the sound plays.
Set how loud it is with your phone's volume buttons.
The sound follows the time and the season: birdsong in the morning, the forest by day, wind and insects in the evening, crickets at night — and the hush of snow in the snowy season.
The sky's sound keeps playing with the screen off. Once you turn it on, it stays on when you open the app again.
Poji's room: below that in Scenes & sounds, you can go into a room (see Poji's room).
Poji's room
In Scenes & sounds, pick one of five moods and you're straight in: To focus, To quiet down, To ease up, A little lift or To sleep.
When even choosing is too much, tap Let Poji choose, and Poji picks a room.
The room opens over Home. A slow scene moves, music and ambient sounds play, and Poji sits with you. You don't need to do anything. Leave is always in sight, and takes you back to Home.
Switch between Sound on and Sound off where you pick the room. Rooms play sound even with your phone on silent, so please mind the volume.
While a room plays sound, playback controls appear on the lock screen.
The timer can be none, 15, 30 or 60 minutes (and Until morning in To sleep). When it's up, the sound slowly fades and stops.
In Scene & more, you can change the scene or go to another room.
Feeling & memo lets you pick how you feel, or write down what's on your mind. The memo is not saved or sent anywhere, and disappears when you leave the room.
Which room you used, when and for how long stays on this device only. Under Poji's room on the Me tab you can stop keeping it, or delete it.
Scenes and sounds load when you use them. On Wi-Fi, you can also Download every scene and sound from Poji's room on the Me tab.
Poji's calls, and good things floating by
One bubble at a time floats up just above Poji's head, drifts a little higher and fades; a moment later, the next one comes.
Poji's calls: “Tell me today's positive!”, “Today's theme is …. Want to write about it?” and so on. + Tap to write opens What was a positive moment today? (with the theme, for a theme).
Good things you wrote before (“A good thing from 10/3”, say — or one from today, once it's ten minutes old) float up with a warm word from Poji. Tap one to open that day. Calls and good things take turns.
Good things from people you follow, posted in the last 24 hours, float by too.
While Poji is saying something itself, nothing floats there — it's the same spot.
Words about something painful, and ones you put away with Don't show this one on a leaf letter, never float by.
Poji's suggestions
Now and then, Poji says something in a speech bubble. Its button opens what it suggests; Not now closes it. If you tap nothing, it floats away after about 15 seconds.
For example: on a day you haven't written yet, “What positive thing happened today?”; sometimes, today's theme; late at night, the sleep room; and sometimes by day, today's note from Gentle notes.
At most three a day, at least three hours apart. After Not now, there are no more that day.
Suggestions never use notifications or sound.
A sky that follows the seasons and the time
The sky follows the real time of day: morning, daytime, sunset and night.
The seasons bring cherry blossoms, fresh green, fireflies, autumn leaves and snow.
Now and then, someone of the season comes by to see Poji: a butterfly in spring, a swallowtail and fireflies in summer, a red dragonfly (a Japanese white-eye in the morning and late afternoon) and a bell cricket in autumn, a long-tailed tit or one big snowflake in winter. Poji follows them with its eyes. Touch one and it flies off. They don't come while Poji is asleep.
Touch Poji and it wobbles and says a few words back (with a soft sound while the speaker is on); every few touches, it invites you to write about today's theme.
A leaf letter in the grass means Poji has brought back a good moment you kept before. Tap it to read it. To keep one from coming back, tap Don't show this one on its letter.
Things that move on their own stop when Reduce Motion is on in your device settings.
Turn on Keep the screen on in the … menu to keep the screen from turning off while this screen is open (it uses more battery).
The Home Screen widget
Put the Pojipo widget on your phone's Home Screen, and a good thing you wrote before (“That day's good moment”) shows there with Poji. It changes every few hours.
Today's words, and words about something painful, never show there. Tap the widget to open that day.
To keep words off it, turn on Keep words off the widget on the Me tab. Then it shows just the date and a word from Poji.
The + beside the tabs, or Poji's + Tap to write, opens What was a positive moment today?
Write today's small good thing in the field. You can write up to 140 characters, and the count always shows. You can also speak instead of typing, with the microphone button.
Once there are words, a round gold button appears at the right of the field. Tap it to keep them.
What you're writing is saved as a draft as you go. Close with the ✕ at the top right, and the draft stays.
Opened from today's theme, the theme shows at the top.
When you keep it, Poji answers in a few words (“That makes me happy. Kept safe in Reflect.”, say).
Choose who sees your records under Who sees your moments on the Me tab — not on the writing screen. It starts as Only me.
Only me (recommended): other users can't see it.
Show friends: shown to your friends for 24 hours.
Show everyone: shown to everyone for 24 hours.
If what you wrote seems to have words about something painful, it's kept as Only me first, and we ask what you'd like to do. If you choose to show everyone, we look at it before it goes out.
Posts for everyone are checked for unkind words. If one needs a review, you'll see the result under the bell (Notifications) at the top right of the Me tab.
Music
When your records go to Show friends or Show everyone, Add music lets you choose a track.
The music plays when someone opens the post. The speaker above it stops the music.
Photos
From 1.0.13, there's no way to add a photo to a record.
Photos you added before stay, and still show on that day's screen. They are kept on this device only.
Today's theme, and good things from friends and from everyone.
Today's theme
At the top is Today's Theme, a new one each day. Write for this theme lets you write with it in mind.
On Home, Poji sometimes suggests the theme too.
Good things from friends and everyone
People you follow: posts from the people you follow.
Right now: posts from around the world in the last 24 hours.
While posts are shown, the button at the bottom right (the + beside the tabs on iPhone) opens What was a positive moment today? too.
Viewing posts
Tap a post to open it full screen. Swipe up for the next one.
The bar at the top fills over 8 seconds, then the next post comes.
A post with music plays it when it opens. The speaker above the poster's name stops it — and then the posts you go on to see stay quiet too (tap it again to play). If the music can't load (a weak connection, say), the speaker shows it off; tap it to try again, and you'll be told if it still can't.
Posts in other languages are shown translated. Tap Original to read the words as written.
Following and friends
Tap Follow on an opened post, and that person's posts show near the top of the Poji tab.
When you follow each other, you become friends and can see each other's friends-only posts.
You can also invite friends with an invite code or link, under Friends on the Me tab. Joining with an invite code makes you follow each other (friends).
When no one you follow has posted lately, Invite under People you follow on the Poji tab invites a friend too.
No follower or following counts are shown.
Stars
Liked a post? You can give it a star. When you do, the person who posted it will see your nickname.
When someone stars your post or follows you, it shows under the bell (Notifications) on the Me tab — no push notification is sent. You can turn this off with Star and follow notices.
Reporting and blocking
If a post worries you, open the menu (⋮) at the top right of the opened post and tap Report to let us know.
Block in the same menu stops that person from seeing your posts. They won't be told that you blocked them.
To unblock someone, go to Blocked users on the Me tab.
Feelings we kept together
Right now shows one number: everyone's records, stars and more, added together. It isn't a contest — it's something we fill up together, little by little.
Look back at your own small good things, without being judged.
Your small positives this week
Monday to Sunday, a sprout comes up and a flower grows with how many good things you wrote that day (1, 2–3, 4–5, 6 or more — a little bigger each time). A day with nothing kept stays bare soil.
Tap a flower to see what you kept that day.
Poji says a few words about how the week went.
Last week's reflection: Poji says in a few words what kind of good things came up most. Tap it to open the calendar.
Calendar
The calendar button at the top right opens a calendar for each month. On days you kept something, flowers bloom with how many you kept.
Tap a flower to open that day: what you kept, photos you added before, and your time in Poji's room.
Get to know yourself
Growing a positive mind: a short read on getting along with your feelings.
Good-mood guide: a place to gather small things that lift your mood a little. See Good-mood switches.
Small helpers for tired days. Pick from ideas like “Turn off one light” or “A sip of something warm”, or add your own with Write your own.
After trying one, tap I tried it and choose Lifted me quite a bit, Shifted a little or Not sure yet.
Over time, you'll start to see what suits you. You can open them from the Good-mood guide on Reflect too.
Until 1.0.12 they were called calm switches.
Gentle notes
Short reads about mood waves, tiredness and rest, space between people, busy days, evenings, and knowing yourself. They are currently in Japanese only, so they appear when the app is set to Japanese.
Today's note is chosen for you each day — sometimes Poji lets you know it's here. You can also Choose by series.
Tap Keep to read one again later, or Not today to hide it for the day.
They are written by the people who run Pojipo, based on general, everyday ideas, and have not been reviewed by a mental health professional. They can't diagnose or treat anything, or give personal advice.
Notifications (the bell)
The bell at the top right shows your notices: stars, follows, and the result when a post for everyone was reviewed.
When there's something new, the bell gets a small dot — never a number.
Language: choose from seven languages, including English and Japanese.
Places to talk
Places where you can talk when things are hard, by phone or by text. Tap a number to call it, or press and hold to copy it.
Outside Japan, Find a helpline in your country opens a free directory of helplines.
If you're in danger right now, please call your local emergency number.
This app can't offer counselling or a diagnosis.
The screen tour and this guide
Show the screen tour again shows the tour of Home once more.
How to use (guide) opens this page.
Privacy
Who sees your moments: who sees your records (Only me, Show friends or Show everyone). New records go to whoever you choose here.
Delete posts: remove posts you showed to friends or everyone.
Blocked users and Star and follow notices.
Keep words off the widget: the Home Screen widget shows no earlier good things — just the date and a word from Poji.
Poji's room: whether to keep its history, and the scenes and sounds saved on the phone.
Report or contact us: to reach the people who run Pojipo.
Send usage records is under About › Privacy policy & data.
Deleting your account
Use Delete account at the very bottom of the Me tab. To confirm, type DELETE. Along the way we may ask why you’re leaving; you can delete without answering (answers reach us only as counts, never tied to you).
Your records, your connections with friends and your settings are all deleted, and this can't be undone.
No. Days without a record are fine. Pojipo never judges you by streaks or counts. Some days, just leaving Home open is enough.
Where did the inner weather, the timer and photos go?
In 1.0.13, to put writing down today's good things and looking back on them at the center, we took out the inner weather, the clock and timer on Home, and Add a photo on records.
The weather you kept and the photos you added before have not been deleted. Photos still show on that day's screen.
You can still use a timer inside Poji's room. Timers and daily timers you set on Home before stop the first time you open 1.0.13, and their notifications and alarms no longer ring.
Where did the Unwind tab go?
From 1.0.10, Poji's room is behind the door button on Home (Scenes & sounds), and your good-mood switches and gentle notes are on the Me tab. Settings are on the Me tab too.
Can other people see what I keep?
Records start as Only me, so other users can't see them. Only when you choose Show friends or Show everyone under Who sees your moments on the Me tab is a post shown, for 24 hours. The inner weather you kept before is never shown to anyone else either.
What happens to my records on a new phone?
Log in to the same account on the new phone, and your records are there. Photos you added before and your Poji's room history are kept only on the old phone, so they don't move over.
I'd like less sound, motion and notifications
Pojipo sends no notifications.
The sky's sound and Poji's sounds on Home play only while the speaker is on. You can go into Poji's room with Sound off too.
Things that move on their own stop when Reduce Motion is on in your device settings.
Calm mode (the moon button) was taken out in 1.0.12, and Quietness (its Connections switches and the rest) in 1.0.13.
Where are my photos kept?
Photos you added before are on this device only. Photos on Only me records are never sent to our server. Only when you shared with Show friends in 1.0.12 or earlier was a copy sent with the post, with the location and other details removed, and it's deleted from the server when the post goes. From 1.0.13, you can't add new photos. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The email with my code doesn't arrive
Please check your spam folder. You can also wait a little and tap Resend code. If it still doesn't come, please contact us.
